Wind Beneath My Wings (360 hits)

I wrote this piece during the spring of 2005, the day I TRULY found peace with my CREATOR, and of self. On that day I learned to count my Blessings and to be grateful for all that HE has brought me through. With each new day, I continue to give HIM all of the Praise and all of the Honor; for HE is truly worthy! I was moved to share it again today. I hope you enjoy as much as I did expressing it.

Peace, Light and an Abundance of Blessings
~Bren

Here I am again
Spending my quality time with YOU
Admiring from top deck
The massive beauty of greenery
Colorful blossoms of spring
Birds chirping amongst themselves
Sweet sounds of jazz
Whispering in my ear
Absorbing all this goodness

My mind simply wanders
In no particular direction
Just flowing
The sun beams down warmly against my protected bare skin
Toned so golden
Reminds me of an Egyptian slice of gold
As I take a Sip of refreshing
I watch as a red breast lands on the lower deck
Perched and eagerly looking about
I think…
Must be nice to be able to take wings and fly
Anytime
Anywhere
With no worries of the hurried life of mankind

Suddenly
The red breast flutters off to just be
As if to prove my thoughts as such
I soon find myself pondering
The cascading shadows from the shade trees
Gracefully impressing different shapes against the landscaping
The fragrance of the freshly mowed lawn is so intoxicating
I’m enjoying this moment
Time Out…
No Drama
No Hate
No Crime
Just time set aside for me

I look back on where I began
The trials I’ve endured
The loss' I've encountered
I can count my blessings ten-fold
For I am so blessed to have loved and to be loved
Placing all chaos in Your hands
For there is no place for it here
It is because of You that I smile
When life sends shortcomings my way
You piece everything together
Helping me to see the bigger picture
You guide me that extra mile needed to succeed
Lending Your shoulder so I may cry upon it
You listen as I babble senselessly
When life sometimes seems so senseless
Thank you FATHER
For I am thriving and it’s because of You
YOU are the Wind Beneath My Wings

I love this. It reflects so much of me in it. Sometimes when we be still, we can hear God speaking to us through his wonders of nature. Having an appreciation for the things in this world that we have no control over oftne brings us back to center and puts life in marvelous perspective. This is awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us.
