My journey of change is a constant one. Learning, appreciating, accepting, knowing, and evolving, i.e. Self Mastery never ends. My greatest desire is to know who I am inside and out, and to use that knowledge to create the life that I deserve. Of course, there are rocks along the path I walk, but to date, I am pretty good at stepping lightly so they don’t hurt my feet. I am in Metamorph-A-Sis process…
I have found that there are many that are trying to find their center just as I. I’m not here to say that there is a right way and a wrong way to do this, because life is built on differences; different things work for different people. I am sharing the things that have helped MY own personal journey.
SPEAK HONOR & TRUTH – This was one of biggest problems. I had to meditate deeply in order to master this. I found myself not knowing when to speak the truth and honor it. When something bothered me, instead of saying that it did, I would just keep it inside. I was always worried about hurting another person’s feelings when I didn’t agree. When I started to transition, I knew that I wasn’t honoring my truth because I felt it weighing on my spirit. It was tooooooo heavy to carry, so I decided to change it. So only TRUTH comes from me now, and I no longer worry about hurting another’s feelings. Hey, they say the truth hurts anyway right??
STOP FEELING OBLIGATED – So many times I felt obligated to be someone’s friend. In the past I felt that I must keep connections with someone simply because of the length of time that we knew each other, i.e. we had a history. I had to learn that just as the seasons change, people change. I had to learn when a friendship was no longer beneficial and enriching to my spirit. I would feel the energy draining from me because of this “friendship” but I would ignore it. I had to start choosing who to give my energy and time to.
TAKE TIME FOR SELF – Everything that I did was for someone other than myself. I had to learn that taking time out for me was beneficial to my health. Getting and Staying in tune with me is most important. People have tendencies to use your kindness for weakness, and when you do fall weak, they are never there to help you stand.
USE YOUR FAITH – Faith is important. I had to get on a personal relationship with the Creator and the UNIverse. I had to dig deep into my inner spirit in order for my outer shell to shine. Faith is the fuel that keeps your spirit flowing efficiently. I started reading daily affirminations, and applying them to my everyday life.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS – I started to accept things that I couldn’t change as they were. I couldn’t change the fact that I didn’t have the money for a certain bill, I couldn’t change the fact that a friend had shady ways, so on and so forth. All things come and go. Nothing is forever, and that is what I had to realize.
NO EXCUSES – I used to sit and wallow in my own misery. “Why Me?” I can’t even count the number of times I have said that. It is no longer part of my vocabulary. There is no time for me to give myself “pity parties” or have “woe-is-me” stories. I was blocking my own blessings. I was giving negative energy fuel.
LOVE YOUR LIFE – Most important. I love who I am, where I am, where I came from, who I’ve become, and the road that I’m traveling now to get to where I’m going. Everything and everyone in my life is a reflection of the joy in my life. That includes good and bad. I love my life; wouldn’t trade it, and I refuse to fade it. I’m proud of the skin I’m in, and proud of the spirit within..
I was afraid to be me, but you know what fear means to me now?
