Daily Forgiveness (1203 hits)

There are always going to be people, places and things that we will not like. There is nothing wrong with not liking things, but if we hold a resentment to these outside things we are only hurting our inner being. For us to continue to be positive, we have to clear our mind of these negative feelings so that we can make room for positive and happy things.

If we were into real estate and rental properties we wouldn't allow bad tenants to continue living in our space. So why would we allow a negative feeling or image to reside in our heart or mind? As long as this negativity remains there, we are taking space away from the things that can help us grow and we are also destroying the premises.

It is much easier, less stressful, and also less destructive to forgive a person so that you can evict these negative feelings. Would you rather have a space full of terrible feelings, an empty space, or a space full the things that you can truly appreciate and enjoy?

Free your mind,

This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a friend of mine. She said she hated the painter, Bob Ross, who always painted dead trees in his paintings, and in her oppinion, ruined the picture. It did little to explain to her that death is a part of life. It wouldn't look as real as it does if it didn't have something dead in it. Imagine the world without bugs! Not a pretty sight. We need to be thankful for the bad as well as the good. The sun and rain shine and pour upon both. Thank you for this post.

I love this. ...just beautiful. It makes me think of this passage of scripture from Phil 4:6-8:

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Thanks for posting this. It's a wonderful reminder. ;-)

Blessings...

Absolutely agree with you 100 percent! I had the opportunity to hold onto negativity when my co-worker was allowing her hormones to get the best of her last nite on the overnite shift I worked. The woman has issues that only God can help her with. I nicely ignored her and went on with my job as if nothing had happened while she acted silly. Life is too short to hold to resentment and to give people with bad attitudes my time and attention.

Taking the good with the bad is part of life, but living a life that is being controled by something negative will have us walking around only half as good as we are capable of being.

I am glad that you can relate to the message and for giving me a spiritual reference to hopefully take things a step further.

That extra weight seems to come from nowhere and it is difficult to figure out where it is coming from, but it is always relieving when that weight disappears.

You did right, giving that negative energy time and space in your life will only result to it coming back again and again.

You are absolutely right about forgiving, we have to do it, mean it, and go with life. Thats the only way that it can truly work.

Forgiveness is the greatest part of healing self. Harbored feelings only hurt us in the long run. We walk around harboring feelings of hurt and anger and the person we're upset with and not wanting to forgive has moved on with their lives while we're holding on to when we need to "Let Go And Let God". You'll feel what seems to be the weight of the world lifted off of your shoulders when you forgive!

I like this one Emmanuel
Forgiveness was what helped me deal with situations in my life that I thought I'd never recover from but once I began to realize that certain things weren't my fault accept responsibility for the things that were and finally forgive... I saw the world, people and mainly myself in a different light.
