'To be aware is to be alive.'

Being aware of our surroundings is not only great for being in tune with what's current, it also keeps us at least 1 step ahead of our past, and 1 step closer to our destiny.

We can never be absolutely sure of what the future holds, but we can be fully aware of our past and present to take steps at creating a future that we desire.

-Being aware of certain attitudes can help us avoid unpleasant circumstances.

-Being aware of certain cycles can help us to recognize signs of things to come.

-Being aware of our own capabilities and shortcomings can help use the positive and negative aspects of our characteristics to succeed in our endeavors.

-Being aware simply means taking the time to understand and if we use understanding we can accomplish things with much more ease and more pleasurable.

Proper preparation prevents poor performance.

Why do we want to become more aware?

If we remain unaware, we:
- repeat the past,
- remain stuck in relationships,
- live superficial, literal and one dimensional lives,
- lack experiences of love and beauty, and
- have limited connection to others and the universe.

With awareness, we are fully involved with life. Awareness is sensing deeply and sensitively for what really is. To do this, we need to approach the present as totally new. When we can be open and attentive in each moment, we begin to free ourselves from the conditioning of the past and the suffering that it so often brings.
