So wassup Connect Platform? Hope ya’ll having a refreshing Sunday. Somebody reminded me it’s officially football season. I think I’ll check out the Cowboys and Browns. I’ve got this thang for T.O. You know what I mean? So, what game are ya’ll watching this afternoon?
I gotta ask. Are ya’ll sure murder is illegal? On the real, I have a 16-year-old man-child that can cause me to ponder the pleasures of a vacation in a cell, preferably padded. I taught this brother to cover the ground he walks on, think for himself and take responsibility for his actions. Do you think he listened to me? Of course, he listened to me. and I’m so proud of him, but be careful what you ask for... But oh, when he gets his testosterone on…the child makes my head spin around like something out of “The Exorcist”. My precious mirror reflects back every lesson I’ve tried to teach him; trouble is, he also reflects back all the stuff I never wanted him to learn. Can’t commit murder without committing suicide. Anyway.
When he slammed out the door for work and left me burning with the desire to snatch all the black off him, here came the Spirit whispering that same old word again. “Submit.” What? I’m not fixin to submit to no…you know the rest, but it gave me pause. I was submitting to anger and frustration, allowing them to derail my attitude and my focus. I had submitted myself to my son’s need to blow off steam in a pointless battle with anybody; the boy just wanted to fight. Child was yelling at me about his daddy, and I submitted myself to the chaos. The Bible says, “Provoke not your children to wrath.” (Eph 6:4) Well, I didn’t start the fight; heck I didn’t even have a dog in it, but I sure fueled the blaze. I added thought, word and deed to a destructive situation; I should have submitted. Not to my son, but to my love for him.
Are you acting in willing cooperation with Love? Are you assuming the responsibility and bearing the burden of being the spark of Divinity lighting your world? Every moment, in every situation, we submit to something or someone. The question who/what are you submitting to? Just Sayin

My View of the News
Not today. Every now and again it’s a good idea to give our minds and spirits a rest from the troubles of this world. Sunday is my time-out day. I watch football and old movies. I read and listen to Temptations and Moments tunes. I nap and play video games. But I don’t watch the news. How ‘bout you take a day off from chaos and fear too; it will all still be here tomorrow. If not, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Just Sayin
