The landmark Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade 410 U.S. 113 (1973), should be honored and respected by every woman (and man) simply because it is the most important Supreme Court decision that preserves the right of every woman to stay in a position to make a choice about her body during a pregnancy.
Without choosing sides for or against abortion, Roe v. Wade 410 U.S. 113 (1973), goes deeper than the surface because it allows each woman to make a decision under any circumstances (i.e., rape, incest, etc.) to have control about the direction she wants to take her body. Every woman can understand the significance of being able to do so without the oppressive control by males (or females). We must guarantee our future against Suffrage and reach out to protect women with mental illnesses, teens, and those impoverished to be able to exercise the rights under Roe v. Wade.
Because of this very protective right, it is important to maintain the freedom of women to decide on the fate of their bodies on the Supreme Court. Doing so also ensures that NO state can reverse the decision of Roe v. Wade.
By nominating Justice Sonya Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade will remain in tact. This is because Judge Sotomayor has a demonstrated record of protecting Roe v. Wade and she continues to declare that Roe v. Wade should be protected under ALL circumstances. The nomination of Judge Sotomayor ensures that the U.S. Supreme Court as a whole body voting cannot upset or reverse Roe v. Wade.
This week it is important to send a message to Congress to support the nomination of Judge Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court. Please take a few minutes to do this by visiting
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/... and signing the Petition Encouraging Congresspersons to support Judge Sotomayor's nomination.
It will only take between 3-5 minutes to do so and this will also help women who are without means of communication to be heard, but remain protected under Roe v. Wade. This will ensure our daughters' rights in the future as well.
I would like to hear your opinion about Judge Sotomayor (not about abortion rights) so please feel free to share.
