DID YOU KNOW?
Members of Congress are trying to figure out where they stand on healthcare reform.
Several Senators like Russ Fiengold, Sherrod Brown, and Ted Kennedy have already stood up. In the House, the entire 80 member Progressive Caucus has joined us to draw a line in the sand. But too many Democrats and it seems like every Republican still don't seem to get it.
America wants the choice of a public healthcare option.
Over 75% of Americans, including even 50% of Republicans, support it. That's why we've drawn a line in the sand. A public option is the only way to guarantee healthcare for all Americans and its inclusion in any legislation passed this year is non-negotiable.
Now is the time to deliver our message to every single member of Congress. If you can't make the Rally, can you contact your Congressperson and send them an e-mail demanding he or she support the Healthcare Reform's Public Health Program.
Please visit the Senate at
www.senate.gov and visit the House at
www.house.gov. WHAT DO I DO WHILE YOU SLEEP?
I read lettrs from citizens like YOU and me addressed to President Obama about the need for Healthcare Reform. These letters are heart-wrenching. I was invited to do this and I thought, sure. Well, I have to really struggle because these letters tell the stories of people who have lost legs due to diabetes and beause they did not have insurance, their limbs had to go!
I read stories about people who go bankrupt because of a hospitalization. I read letters about people in pain watching a loved one die because the insurance company has declared their cancer a "pre-existing condition" and stopped paying for chemo!
What in the world has happend to the US?
I find myself becoming angry in between tears and I don't know these people. Imagine the healthcare industry's wealth and after paying premiums for 17 years, one woman was told her "treatment" for a rare disease was "experimental" and then denied. Was her premiums "experimental" because this woman was never sick a day in her life while paying those premiums!!!!!!!!
WE CANNOT sit idly by wating for the next person to get involved and fix this for US! WE MUST do one small thing to change this tragedy around!
PLEASE JUMP IN by contacting YOUR Congressperson today. It only takes a few minutes.
OR, join the rally!
