BUYING A CAR SHOULD BE AS PLEASURABLE AS PURCHASING A GREAT PAIR OF SHOES (1335 hits)

Someone told me a long time ago, that we, as Black Women, pay more and get the worse deals on the planet when it comes to purchasing a new car.
Actually, we are still on the bottom end of the Totum Pole in more ways than we can give thought to.
Here are a few tips to consider when you get ready to buy that new ride !
1. Always, always shop around ! Don't ever put your money on the first horse you see at the gate. ( You know this already, so lets move on )
Whatever you're looking for, it must be functional, comfortable and affortable!
2. Safety for you and your family is a priority.
3. Get the payment that fits your budget.
Are you concerned about affording a new car ?
Well let me give you some statistics from a Cleveland Goddess's point of view.
Average cost per Pair of Shoes= $65 ( I know what you're thinking, just stick with me)!
Average Hotel Room Rate = $ 110
Average Daily Food Cost = $ 54
Approximate Taxi Fare = $22 ( from Airport to Downtown, remember I live in Cleveland)
Approximate Weekly Car Rental Cost = $205
Approximate Daily Car Payment Cost = $10
So, HOW MANY PAIRS OF SHOES DO YOU OWN ?
When the cost of repairs exceeds the market value of the vehicle ( major repairs such as transmissions, engines, or complete brake sytems), it's time to replace it.
Here also are some helpful online sources to determine its true value, but the truth is your vehicle will never be worth more than it is today.
Helpful tools to determine its true market value; i.e. kbb.com, Edmunds.com and NADA.com
Also, don't get hooked into a service garage trying to convince you to spend big bucks on a vehicle that should be replaced.
4. Your vehicle should meet your needs. Finding a vehicle that makes life easier is very important.
There are many variables when it comes to replacing a vehicle, the trick that comes into place is knowing when !

The most important thing to do is to let the salesman know from the git-go that U will walk if he insults your intelligence or does not accept your offer. OH! Be read-up before you go car-shopping and know blue book values or new car values-- go online -- and then decide how much you want to pay and how you want to pay for it. My daughter bought her first new car at 19 when she was at Hampton, a straight shift. The salesman taught her how to drive it in the dealership parking lot and, with her best friend driving behind her, she drove it home through the Hampton Roads Tunnel. She always gets her price at a dealer. She is 35, now, and has bought a few cars, she and her husband. If the salesman gets silly, she walks. No matter how much she likes a car, she knows she can find another that will suit her. I am going thru that now with houses. I have to get the deal that suits me. No one else. I was stupid with my first new car purchase. Don't ask. Not now.

On top of everything said, the people who get the cream of the crop, even better deal ??
White Men !
I have a girl friend that has a white boy friend ,that after she has spotted one of her choice, will go in, negotiate a deal, let her know, then she goes in and see the price they offer her.
After the complete shopping excursion, (and if the one she has selected is still available), she brings him in, therfore getting the deal they offered him.
Sounds smart to me!
This works, if you really want the better deal that can be obtained.

I would stick with the champagne color Beloved, you want everything to flow !
Its a neutral color, so actually you can treat it almost like black and go with several.
This is just my opinion, You're a Goddess, as well as woman of color !
At last, we can go what we WANT for a change.
Everything is heading into OUR world for once !
