Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Santa Clara, CA
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (TTH) or Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 100% onsite

• Work hours: Flexible start time at 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM
• Lunch break: Elect either 30 minutes or 1 hour

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash/Accounts Receivable Reconciliation: Manage and reconcile cash and AR accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• AR Adjustments: Process and document adjustments related to accounts receivable.
• Bad Debt Management: Prepare and monitor bad debt write-offs and maintain the allowance account.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Sales Tax and Business Filings:
  • File multi-state sales taxes accurately and on time.
  • Complete business and retail fee filings as required.
• Payroll Journal Preparation: Review, prepare, and post payroll-related journal entries, including commissions and medical expenses.
• Audit Assistance: Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
• Backup Responsibilities: Serve as a backup for the Senior Accountant and other team members, including handling fixed assets and additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in balance sheet reconciliations, AR adjustments, and payroll journal preparation.
• Familiarity with multi-state sales tax filings and business fees.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
