As I pass through my grieving of the loss of my baby, Quori (pronounced, "Cory"), I wanted to share some photos and a poem with my online friends.
Quori was a preemie born in 1986 weighing 1 pound 12 ounces. He was given a life expectancy of 2 years.
On June 28, 2010, Quori transitioned at age 23 years old. amen? Amen!
While Quori was blessed with special needs due to his birth, he taught me the value of humanity, quality of life for all God's children, love, and humility among other things.
The 23 years were often difficult as I faught systems and barriers to give my son and others the best quality of life despite science and arrogance and ignorance and stereotypes and racism and stigmas.
I am grateful to the Lord for ending my baby's suffering on this side of life and I encourage other persons with family members with special needs to keep fighting the good fight for the Lord.
A broken body to us is a unique and precious cargo to the Lord. He speaks to us all and Quori knew the Lord, too. He always smiled and was at peace when he heard gospel songs. amen? Amen!
I was with my baby when he transitioned and he stole away as I hummed: Kumbaya, Lord. Kumbaya...
Your sufficient grace is upon me,
long days, nights before You called Quori
so uniquely dedicated, most humbly,
to deliver this precious gift to Thee,
and rest less wearily,
trusting and knowing absolutely,
You welcomed Quori favorably ....
2 Cor. 12:9 NIV
Please enjoy the photos.
Passing the peace and love,
